Davis Instruments stations report to the WeatherLink cloud. Cloud Studio IoT reads their current conditions from there through the WeatherLink v2 API, with keys the station owner creates and can revoke at any time. The stations keep reporting to WeatherLink as they do today.
Sign in to weatherlink.com, open the Account page and click Generate v2 Key. You get an API Key and an API Secret; keep the secret private.
In Gear Manager, open the client, go to the Integrations tab and fill in Davis WeatherLink Weather Stations with the key and the secret. The secret travels in a request header, never in the URL.
Register each station with its WeatherLink station ID as the device address, under a device model whose script maps the sensor blocks WeatherLink returns to the device's endpoints. WeatherLink answers in US units, so the script also converts to °C, hPa, mm and m/s.
Each reading becomes a device variable that you can show on dashboards, use in alarms and include in scheduled reports.
