True photoacoustic CO₂ sensor with temperature and humidity over I2C. For indoor air quality.
The SCD41 measures CO₂ for real via the photoacoustic principle, unlike VOC sensors that only 'estimate' it. It's the reference for indoor air quality and ventilation control, with automatic self-calibration (ASC).
It draws more than a simple environmental sensor and costs more, but the direct CO₂ measurement is what justifies it. Its SCD40 sibling is slightly less accurate and cheaper.
Pros
- True CO₂ measurement (photoacoustic)
- Includes temperature and humidity
- Automatic self-calibration (ASC)
Cons
- Pricey vs basic environmental sensors
- Higher power consumption
