How to connect Milesight to Cloud Studio IoT

Milesight makes LoRaWAN sensors for air quality, occupancy, temperature, energy, level and leaks, among others. They reach Cloud Studio IoT through the LoRaWAN network server you already use: the network server decodes each uplink with Milesight's official decoder and forwards it, and the platform stores the readings and turns them into dashboards, alarms and reports.

How to connect it

  1. 1

Register the sensors on your network server

Add each Milesight sensor to The Things Stack, LORIOT or ThingPark X with its DevEUI and keys. In The Things Stack, pick the model from the device repository and Milesight's official decoder is applied for you.

  2. 2

Connect the network server to the platform

Set up the Cloud Studio integration once per network server: a webhook in The Things Stack, an application output in LORIOT or the ThingPark X IoT Flow connection. It needs your instance name and an access token.

  3. 3

Create the devices in Cloud Studio IoT

Add each sensor with its address and model. A natively supported model decodes on its own. Otherwise, create a device model whose script reads the fields the network server already decoded, with payload.asParsedObject(), and assigns them to the device's endpoints.

  4. 4

    Put the readings to work

Each reading becomes a device variable that you can show on dashboards, use in alarms by email or SMS and include in scheduled reports.

What you get

  • Milesight sensors on the same dashboards as devices from any other brand
  • Alarms by email, SMS, WhatsApp, voice call or push when a reading goes out of range
  • White label and a tenant per client, if you install sensors for others
