Sigfox is an ultra-narrowband (UNB) LPWANLTermLPWANLPWAN (Low-Power Wide-Area Network) is a category of long-range, low-power wireless networks for IoT. It includes LoRaWAN, NB-IoT and LTE-M.View profile technology designed to send tiny messages (12-byte uplink, 8-byte downlink) with minimal power and a very low per-device cost. The network is run by a single provider (operator model); it is not deployed privately like LoRaWANProtocolLoRaWANOpen long-range, low-power LPWANView profile.

It is ideal for very-low-data, very-long-battery use cases: meters, presence/open detection, simple trackers. After Sigfox SA's financial troubles, the technology and network moved to UnaBiz.
